Nick Coln next in line for Long Beach Boys Basketball

For the third time in less than a week, Long Beach High School has announced a new varsity head coach.

This time it’s Nick Coln taking over as the head boys basketball coach following other stops as the head man at Alcorn, Olive Branch, and Smithville.

He’ll be replacing Brandon Cobb at the helm following his successful two-year run with the Bearcats.

Coach Cobb burst onto the scene during his first season, leading the Bearcats to a 14 win improvement from the year before en route to a region 8 Class 5A championship, an Elite 8 appearance, and Coach of the Year honors in the district.

Overall, the St. Stanislaus alum was 33-26 during his time at LB.
