NHC issues storm surge warning for Corpus Christi

The National Hurricane Center has issued its first ever public storm surge warning.
The agency is forecasting a storm surge of 6-12 feet in the Corpus Christi, Texas area from Hurricane Harvey. It also tweeted out a photograph to give perspective on what a 12 foot storm surge looks like. The photo includes the caption: ‘forecast of 6-12 feet of storm surge flooding from Harvey mean? For reference, the ceiling at our office is 11 ft.”
