NFL schedule release: Saints in four primetime games
The NFL released its 2020 schedule earlier tonight.
The season opener is set for Thursday night, September 10th as the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans on WXXV NBC.
It’s a rematch of a 2019 playoff game that saw the Texans jump out to an early lead before Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs rallied back for a 51-31 win.
NBC’s Sunday Night Football opener features the L.A. Rams and their debut in their new stadium against Mississippi State alum Dak Prescott and his visiting Dallas Cowboys.
The New Orleans Saints come in with the 24th hardest strength of schedule featuring three primetime games in the first five weeks.
The Saints open at home against Tom Brady and the Bucs where Jameis Winston will get to see his former team right out of the gates.
And then they have the honor of being the opponent for the Las Vegas Raiders’ first ever home game.
Other primetime games versus Green Bay in week three and the Los Angeles Chargers in week five, both at the Mercedes Benz Superdome before their week six bye.
Saints get a fourth primetime game in week nine at Tampa Bay before welcoming former USM QB and the San Francisco 49ers.
Then a brutal three game road stretch starting with Denver prior to coming back East to face the Falcons and Eagles in consecutive weeks.
New Orleans plays host to the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in week 15 and gets a rematch with the team that put them out of the playoffs last year, the Minnesota Vikings.
They’ll wrap things up against Teddy Bridgewater and the Panthers in week 17.
