News 25 Game of the Week preview: Gautier vs. Biloxi

The News 25 Game of the Week will feature two teams coming off of big wins in week one.

Following a 34-14 victory over Greene County last week, the Biloxi Indians will head on out to Gator territory tomorrow night to face off against Gautier.

The Gators are coming off a 49-7 victory over Vancleave where the offense pretty much did what they pleased. Led by freshman quarterback Kaden Irving, the Gautier offense put up 35 points in the first half.

Now, these teams haven’t seen each other since 2016 when Biloxi edged out the Gators 16-14.

While both coaches are expecting a good football game, they know that it is still just week two of the season. Biloxi High School Head Coach Katlan French said, “In the beginning, we’re going to go out there and see if we can just be better than them and find out what kind of team we are and find out what we’re made of. I know that it’s going to be a battle. I know that they’re going to make some plays. We plan to make some plays, too. So, we’ll see what happens.”

Gautier Head Coach Marc High said, “It’s going to be a huge measuring stick. I said they got a big fast defense and they got a big powerful offensive line. They got a quarterback who can put it on the spot pretty well. It’s going to be one of those games where it’s going to be tick for tack and we’re just going to see how it’s going to play out in the end.”
