New text scam making the rounds in Mississippi
Some Mississippians have been the targets of a text scam that’s been making the rounds.
Phone numbers have been texting people a flyer that’s titled ‘Mississippi Civil Traffic Notice’ and it say it is a summons to appear for an unpaid traffic violation.
South Mississippi law enforcement agencies received numerous calls and questions about this scam.
As always, ignore texts like these as courts and police will never text you about things like traffic fines and tickets.
