New stone marker for Alisha Ann Heinrich: Baby Jane Doe’s body found in 1982

A new stone marker will be placed at the grave for Alisha Ann Heinrich, formerly known as the first Baby Jane Doe found in Jackson County.

The marker will reflect the baby’s name which investigators discovered in December 2020, 38 years after she was found floating in the Escatawpa River.

There will be a ceremony this Thursday, July 15th at the Jackson County Memorial Gardens in Pascagoula.

The 18-month-old Heinrich was found in the river near I-10 on December 5th, 1982. Heinrich and her mother were reported missing in Missouri.
