New Polocrosse Field and Practice Pen Coming to Harrison County Fairgrounds
Harrison County Supervisors broke ground for a new practice pen and polocrosse field at the Harrison County Fairgrounds.
Polocrosse is an up and coming sport that combines the elements of polo and lacrosse played on horseback. The new polocrosse field will be the first of its kind in our area, drawing teams from Mobile, Jackson, Lake Charles and more. The practice pen will give local riders an opportunity to use a separate practice space when the covered arena is being used.
The two projects are led by District 2 Supervisor Angel Kibler-Middleton. “This is real exciting to me because it’s one of my first projects as a new supervisor. To get to have an active part in it and get going and make it happen, that is very exciting to me. Our locals need it because when the Winter Classics and some bigger shows like that come in, the locals don’t have a place to ride. This is going to give our community something that has been needed for a long time.”
Supervisor Middleton thanks fellow supervisors and Sheriff Troy Peterson for all their help in getting this project started.
