New Orleans Saints prepare for Atlanta Falcons

Ever since the 2009 season where the New Orleans Saints won Super Bowl 44, they have been an NFL best 8-2 coming off a bye week under Head Coach Sean Payton.

The Saints will look to continue that trend on Sunday as they welcome in their NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons for their first of two meetings on this season.

On paper, this week 10 match-up is a total mismatch between 7-1 New Orleans and 1-7 Atlanta. Vegas also has the Saints as a 13 point favorite, easily the largest of any game this week.

But Saints Defensive End Cameron Jordan says not so fast regarding Atlanta’s dynamic duo at wide receiver as well as some of his inner-most bye week thoughts around the league. “We’ve got a strong receiving corps coming in. I know Mohamed Sanu went over the Pats, already scored a touchdown. I watched a lot of football on Sunday. That normally doesn’t happen. Mark Ingram went for a buck-20. Anyways. The Atlanta game. So you have Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones. You’ve got Matt Ryan, who’s putting up amazing numbers this year. Devonta Freeman is healthy, and that makes them dangerous by far. Plus, it’s an in-season rivalry game. And you know all of our rivalry games – our NFC South games – are a battle. You play somebody twice a year, you know them year in and year out what they’re going to bring to the table. So it’s going to be on us to make them one-dimensional, if possible.”

The Saints and Falcons will kick things off at noon Sunday from the Mercedes Benz Superdome.
