New Orleans Saints to play starters vs. Houston Texans

Ever since the signing of Adrian Peterson, there’s been a lot of build up to his on-field debut with the Saints, even if it’s not the regular season just yet.
And a big part of that is Drew Brees getting out there with him for the first time, after both players were held out of the team’s first two preseason games.
This year marks only the second time in his career, Brees hasn’t taken a snap until week three, but it’s the exact opposite for Peterson.
Peterson is relishing the chance to play in his first preseason game since 2011, even if he’s not quite ready to make it a foregone conclusion. “Especially with the season approaching quickly, yeah there’s a sense of urgency to get out there. But we’ll see, we’ll see. We’ll see how things play out.”
Brees said, “I get antsy. You prepare all week to play in games, just practice to practice. So I’m looking forward to it. Obviously, it’s against a very good team. So hopefully as a first unit we go out there and we’re sharp and we execute very well.”
The Black and Gold roll out the welcome mat for the Houston Texans at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
