New mobile food vendor guidelines in Ocean Springs

New food truck regulations are introduced for the City of Ocean Springs.

Today, city leaders gathered to present the new rules and policies to food truck owners as well as the community. During today’s meeting, the Planning and Grants Administrator outlined the existing laws in place for food trucks and reviewed the new site plans added to ensure the mobile food vendors were a safe business.

Mayor Shea Dobson says this is a good step in the right direction for the city. “What this does is to make sure that they are getting their fire inspection, to make sure they’re getting their building inspection done. I think what it’s going to do is it’s going to grow the market. I think this is what the food trucks will do is just help enhance our existing commerce and help make Ocean Springs bigger and better.”

The food truck regulations will go into effect July 4th. The city will start permitting food vendors, but there is a 45 day transition period.
