New Hangars at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport

There’s a new spot for small planes to hang on the Coast and it is located in Gulfport.
A ribbon cutting was held for the eight new hangars that are now open for small planes at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.
The new Bay T Hangar has room for eight general aviation airplanes. Each hangar bay is shaped like the letter “t” to resemble the shape of an airplane.
With help from the Mississippi Department of Transportation, airport officials say they wanted to create a local place for anyone looking to store single engine planes and equipment. Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport Executive Director Clay Williams said, “A great deal of the general aviation aircrafts that were here at the airport during Hurricane Katrina left and went elsewhere while the airport was under repair, many of those have come back. They’re now located at the FBO, which is operated by a millionaire, but this is just another alternative.”
Airport officials surprised the crowd with airplane cookies and snacks.
Each of the bays vary in size, the biggest bay can fit up to 1,560 square feet.
