New Gulfport Admirals Stadium opens Friday

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport Admirals kick off a new era at their new on-campus stadium Friday.

The inaugural football game at Jim Rose Field at Admiral Stadium on the Gulfport High School campus features Gulfport taking on Laurel.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for 5:45 p.m. with stadium gates opening at 6.

Victory Street from Oak Street to Loposser Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 5:30 to 8:30 for every home game.

Overflow parking will be available at Hardy Court Plaza with a free shuttle to the stadium.

Weapons detection systems will be in place at all entrances and fans and bags are subject to search.
