New development projects move forward in the City of D’Iberville

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (WXXV)- The City of D’Iberville isn’t slowing down when it comes to growth.

With new retail, restaurant, and development projects moving forward, city leaders say even more investment could be on the horizon.

After the city’s recent approval of a BJ’s Wholesale Club, the project is now moving into its next phase. The store is planned for the corner of Popp’s Ferry Road and D’Iberville Boulevard. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026 or early 2027.

There could be some good news for steak lovers. The former Red Lobster location may not stay empty for long.

City leaders say Texas Roadhouse has its eyes on the property, bringing the possibility of hand-cut steaks and fresh-baked rolls to D’Iberville. The proposal is scheduled to go before their planning commission later this month. City Manager Bobby Weaver said, “Texas Roadhouse wants to come in. It’s a great location, and they’re going to take the building down, build their style configuration in its place, and they’re coming up on the 28th of August meeting for conditional use to be able to have a bar inside of it, which is typical and that’s not unusual for the area.”

As BJ’s moves forward, another big name may soon follow. Miskelly Furniture is working to finalize plans for a new store just across the street from the future development.

Officials say the company is currently working through its development agreement and finalizing site plans before moving forward. “We are in the middle of working through the development agreement with them, and they’re working on their contract plans specifications. We’ve been having some interactions with them. We’ve had done some zoning approvals for variance that they’ve requested, and so they’re just trying to finalize their plans and be able to submit the data for review and approval to move forward. So, they may both coincide about the same time as far as BJs and Miskelly.”
