New details in an armed robbery at Regency Inn in Pascagoula

There is new information regarding an armed robbery that happened at the Regency Inn Hotel in Pascagoula Sunday night.
The Pascagoula police arrested 19-year-old Anthony Hurst Jr. after he matched the description of a suspect who tried to rob a hotel guest with a gun. Police tell News 25 the call came in at 10 p.m. on Sunday. After authorities recovered evidence in the hotel room, Hurst was taken into custody without incident.
Hurst’s girlfriend, 22-year-old Shantel Toro, was also arrested and is facing charges for accessory to the crime. Lt. Doug Adams with the Pascagoula Police Department said, “It was a place of opportunity for them. Basically because they were familiar with the area, I guess, but it wasn’t geared just towards the Regency Inn. We feel really confident that they’re charged with the crime. They’re charged with armed robbery.”
The two suspects are being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. Hurst is being held on a $100,000 bond. Toro’s bond will be determined in court.
