New court dates for 2014 capital murder crime

The capital murder trial for the 2014 shooting of Lamont Hayes was rescheduled for March 20th.
According to police, 17-year-old Rashad Johnson and 19-year-old Jalen Williams broke into the home of Hayes on Carson Drive in the summer of 2014. They are accused of waking up and assaulting Hayes before fatally shooting him in the groin. Police say the two then fled the scene before trying to steal the victim’s vehicle.
The trial was set to begin at the Harrison County Courthouse this morning, but was moved to next month.
