New Chancellor for Ole Miss

The Mississippi College Board has named Jeffrey Vitter as its top choice to become chancellor at the University of Mississippi.
Vitter, a 59-year-old computer scientist,is currently the provost and executive vice chancellor at the University of Kansas. He has also served as provost at Texas A&M University and was dean of the College of Science at Indiana’s Purdue University.
Republic Senator David Vitter of Louisiana is Jeffrey Vitter’s brother.
