New Businesses Coming to Downtown Pass Christian
Pass Christian has come a long way since Hurricane Katrina and they’re still gaining momentum. Three new businesses are getting ready to open in Pass Christian.
A boutique hotel called Hotel Whiskey is scheduled to be finished in two weeks. It will have 11 rooms and a suite overlooking the downtown area. The hotel will be attached to Whiskey Prime, a high end steak house with a full service bar.
Construction is also underway on Hotel Pass Christian, which will have a gym, pool, and a salon.
Executive Director of Pass Christian Main Street Amy Rishel said, “After Katrina there was nothing here. This was all devastated and nothing. It has rebuilt beautifully. We have lots of shops here on Davis Avenue, going down to the railroad tracks where The Robin’s Nest is. We also have different restaurants that have rebuilt throughout the community as well as throughout the city.”
The owner of Whiskey Hotel tells News 25 rooms are already booked up for Mardi Gras. City officials say they’re hoping the new hotels will strengthen Pass Christian’s spot on the map.
