New $1.2B luxury hotel and music venue on its way to Biloxi

Now to a new development in a story we brought you back in June. The City of Biloxi will soon be home to a brand new $1.2 billion luxury hotel and concert venue.

Universal Music Group announced today it is building three hotels under the brand ‘UMusic,’ one of which will fill the 15-year vacancy of the old Broadwater Hotel site.

The resort will be complete with 1,100 rooms, a golf course, marina, and a casino, along with the music arena, all on the more than 260 acre property.

Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich says this will be a transformational property for the city. “It will be worldwide, so I think that’s what is exciting about it. It is truly a tourism draw of people enhancing by a couple million people a year visitation. We’re excited to be a part of this development. We’re providing incentives and the state of course is providing incentives in order to make this happen.”

The resort is in good company, joining Atlanta and Orlando in the Universal Music Group’s new development sites.
