Netflix Will Exclusively Stream Disney

Netflix announced on its website this week that starting in September it will hold exclusive US rights for new films from Disney. The deal, struck in 2012, includes films from Disney subsidiaries Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar.
Other streaming platforms like Amazon Prime and STARZ will still be able to stream previous Disney umbrella releases but future releases starting with “Captain America: Civil War” will only be available on Netflix.
The deal marks the first time a major studio has cut out a cable service in favor of direct online streaming for post-release pay distribution.
