NED Show Visits North Bay Elementary to Inspire Students

Students at North Bay Elementary in Bay St. Louis had a special visitor Thursday. His name is NED, and he’s even been to the White House.

NED is a fictional character whose name stands for three important life lessons: to never give up, encourage others, and to do your best. Through magic, storytelling, jokes, and yo-yo tricks, NED promotes positive attitudes and encourages students and faculty to give their best every day. The NED Show is part of a district-wide effort to promote community involvement and positive behavior. School officials tell News 25 about the idea behind the show.

Gretchen Darby, a counselor at North Bay Elementary, says, "To come together as a whole, as a community, as a school family, and decide that we are going to tackle this new curriculum with everything we have and give it our all and persevere and succeed, and I think that is what NED is all about, encouraging others and trying your best."

The NED Show has performed in Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand and will visit 6,000 schools this year alone.
