NCBC Navy Lodge wins ‘the Best of the Best’
The Naval Construction Battalion Center’s Lodge wins the ‘Best of the Best’ in a competition involving every other Navy lodge around the globe.
For the lodge general manager Annette Cephas, earning this award is the equivalant of taking home Olympic gold.
The lodge is best rated with the highest marks in guest satisfaction, operations, quality assessment, and financial performance.
Aside from the high satisfaction rates it was also noted for its economic competence and was able to give back almost one million into system upgrades, repairs, and renovations.
Cephas was thrilled to secure the award considering the constant changes to protocols with COVID and the staffing shortages. “It just shows that we have an opportunity to grow. I tell my staff that the more you know, the more you grow. So, it challenges them and it also challenges me. So, if I can reach these numbers in the pandemic, what numbers can be obtained out of the pandemic?”
The lodge mainly serves those on PCS orders which stands for ‘permanent change of station’ for those coming into the base or going out.
But they also provide lodging to those on temporary duty and leisure guests that come down to visit the Coast.
