NCAA spring athletes granted relief: players given year of eligibility
Now here’s where things get complicated, regardless of whether or not we’ve seen the last of collegiate athletics this spring, the NCAA is granting relief for all players, participating in spring sports and will discuss issues for winter spring athletes,
That means most seniors will get the chance to run it back in 2021, but this ruling also lends itself to a handful of headaches.
As it pertains to college baseball, the most likely scenario is getting rid of the 27 players on scholarship cap for one year and getting rid of the 25 percent minimum rule for one year.
If the NCAA does lift the roster cap, most teams will be trying to field a nine-man line up with upwards of 40 players on their roster with the influx of a brand new crop of freshmen.
This all according to Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball.
