NCAA Baseball: Mississippi State vs. Alcorn State

After losing to Texas Southern at home on Tuesday, the Mississippi State baseball team had to take it out on someone on Wednesday. And that someone just so happens to be in-state rival Alcorn State who was on the wrong end of this one.

Mississippi State-8 Alcorn State-4

Mississippi State Head Coach Chris Lemonis said, “We’ve got really good players, but sometimes this game plays you tough. We had to fight through it. I think we learned a lot about our team in a twenty four hour period because when we left here last night, very disappointed, but it was good to see them fight back.”

Jordan Westburg said, “You can kind of take a sigh of relief, you know. We put yesterday’s loss behind us and moved on to today. Even if we didn’t play our best baseball, we still got a win and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.”

Mississippi State Pitcher Houston Harding said, “We had to get back to the ballpark and play another game today. I think the main thing that was going through my mind was get out there and put my best foot forward for these guys.”

MSU returns to the Diamond on Friday for the start of a three-game series at Long Beach State.
