Nature tourism based workshop

This morning, the Mississippi Gulf Coast National Heritage Area hosted a nature tourism based workshop at Bodega in Bay St. Louis.

This workshop acted as an opportunity for nature-based tourism businesses to work through the checklist of becoming recognized as a Gulf Coast outpost. Businesses in attendance ranged from local farms, fishing companies, and even yoga studios.

Gulf Coast Heritage Area Director Rhonda Price tells News 25 becoming part of the Gulf Coast Outpost Program could help these natured-based businesses to continue to grow. “And what that will do is once they are certified they can take part in our community grant that we are going to offer in the next week or so that could provide marketing and promotions for their businesses.”

Price says they hope to highlight these businesses so visitors can take advantage of them when they come to the Gulf Coast.
