National Zoo panda cub gender reveal

About two weeks ago, the National Zoo giant showed off its giant panda cub getting its first check up from a vet.

That’s when a DNA swab was taken to determine the panda cub’s sex.

Scientists have gotten back the results, and confirmed the cub is a male. Vets say he appears healthy and strong.

On the zoo’s website, zookeepers used a painting created by the cub’s father, Tian Tian, for the gender reveal .
