National Read Across America Week

This week is ‘National Read Across America’ Week and Harrison Central Elementary is celebrating with different themed activities every day.

Today more than 30 students from West Harrison High School visited the elementary school to talk and read to the younger students.

The group of high school students was filled with athletes and students from the robotics team who read books to the kids and demonstrated some of their robots.

Every year, ‘National Read Across America’ week is held on the school week closest to March 2nd which is Dr. Seuss’ birthday. “We wanted to come down and just have them see older kids reading. Reading is fun for everybody and you can do it at any age and it’s not something boring.”
