The National Human Trafficking Hotline Award
This morning, officials from Mississippi’s Center for Violence Prevention stopped by Gulfport City Hall to award the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women for their efforts to raise human trafficking awareness in the state.
The Mississippi Federation of Republican Women chose the National Human Trafficking Hotline as their awareness project. The hotline supports victims and survivors as well as friends and family by giving them an opportunity to report a human trafficking tip or to simply receive support.
The MFRW raised $7,000 to put up billboards across the state to inform people of the hotline. MFRW President Vivian Dailey said, “We know that corridors like I10 and I20 are areas where human trafficking easily occurs and so we are hoping that those billboards will catch the attention of individuals.”
If you or anyone you know may be involved in human trafficking, the hotline phone number is 1-888-373-7888.
