Nacho eating contest to benefit fallen officer

A few local faces in the community worked up an appetite to compete in a nacho eating contest in honor of the family of Mobile Officer Justin Billa who was killed in the line of duty.
Ten percent of all food and beverage sales, as well as monetary donations at the Margaritaville Restaurant, were donated towards Billa and the Tunnel of Towers organization.
Local celebrities around the Gulf Coast including News 25’s Gina Tomlinson participated. Each contestant had twenty minutes to eat five pounds of nachos. Whoever could eat the most during that time frame would be the victor.
The victorious Chief Vincent Payne and Gina say they both enjoyed the event due to the cause. “That’s the most important thing is the charity. I always try to give to charity. For the fallen officer in Mobile that was killed, this is a great cause,” said Chief Payne.
Gina said, “In my heart, I feel great. This was just for a good cause and that’s why I did it.”
The contest was part of a three day festivity for National Margarita Weekend.
