Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse Hosts First Pirate Day in the Bay Event

Bay St. Louis is bringing a new event to town: Pirate Day in the Bay.
Today and tomorrow, Old Town Bay St. Louis will be full of music, historical re-enactments, boat fun, kids’ activities and more. The inaugural festival is organized by Mystic Krewe of the Seahorse.
Co-chair of Pirate Day in the Bay, Stephen Crawford, says this is a way to bring people to Bay St. Louis: “We’re trying to decide what the Bay needed to come back and what we missed and it started with fireworks and we realized we had a pirate theme going and it grew from there. It turned into Pirate Day in the Bay with an air show, a swimwear contest, kid zone and all kinds of wonderful events on the land.”
The night began with all of the pirates taking Mayor Les Fillingame to jail for high taxes. Tomorrow will be capped off with fireworks.
