Museum Exhibit on the 50 Year Anniversary of Hurricane Camille to open today

As for Hurricane Camille, she was no lady, as any South Mississippian who lived through the storm in 1969 will tell you.

But you can still get to know more about her, thanks to an exhibit that is about to be unveiled in Biloxi.

The Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum is set to unveil an exhibit later today called “Camille at 50: She was no Lady.”

An opening reception is scheduled to take place at the Biloxi museum at 5:30 pm today and will be open to the public through the end of November when Hurricane Season ends.

It’s the museum’s way of educating residents and visitors about the dangers of hurricanes, while remembering the heroes, lives lost, and resiliency of our Coast residents in the wake and aftermath of the monster storm when it made landfall in South Mississippi 50 years ago.
