MSU suspends QB Nick Fitzgerald for season opener
After months of off-season preparation and anticipation, the college football season has almost arrived.
As Mississippi State kicks off Saturday against Stephen F. Austin for their season opener, they will be without perhaps the most important part of their team: quarterback Nick Fitzgerald.
The Bulldogs first-year coach, Joe Moorhead, announced Fitzgerald’s suspension today for the season opener. Moorhead said his senior quarterback violated team rules in March.
Fitzgerald combined for nearly 3,000 yards through the air and on the ground last season before suffering a broken ankle during the Egg Bowl.
