MSU Removes State Flag from Campus

Mississippi State becomes the sixth of our state’s eight universities to take down the state flag.
A university spokesperson announced today MSU’s president approved plans from school deans to remove the flag from most parts of the Starkville campus, replacing them with larger American flags.
No word on how many flags have been removed. However, Mississippi’s flag remains part of a 50 state display in the cafeteria.
The decision comes after the state has been under scrutiny over the past year for the flag featuring the Confederate battle emblem.
Ole Miss and Southern Miss removed the Mississippi State flag from their campuses last year.
