MS House Republican Caucus Re-Elects Speaker Philip Gunn to Serve Second Term as Speaker

JACKSON, Miss.—Today, the Mississippi House of Representatives Republican Caucus officially re-elected current Speaker of the House Philip Gunn to serve as the Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives for the 2016-2020 term.
“I’m very honored and humbled that my colleagues would see fit to allow me to serve them as Speaker for another four years,” said Speaker Gunn. “I am proud of the accomplishments we have made over the last four years, and I’m privileged to be asked to lead such an outstanding group of public servants.”
Also nominated to serve additional terms were current Speaker Pro-Tempore Rep. Greg Snowden (R-Meridian) and Clerk of the House Andrew Ketchings.
The 131st Legislative Session begins on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
