Moving Wall Vietnam Veterans Memorial coming to Diamondhead

Diamondhead will soon play host to a memorial honoring the American men and women who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
VFW Post 2880 has put up the funding to accommodate the Moving Wall Vietnam Veterans Memorial at City Hall. This moving monument is a replica of the veterans memorial in Washington, D.C. and is a tribute to more than 58,000 Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Vietnam War. The moving memorial has been visiting cities throughout our nation since 1984.
It will make its first time appearance in South Mississippi on October 26th and will be on display until October 29th. VFW Post 2880 Vice Commander Donald Pat Laird said, “You can come up, you can get an etching if you recognize people whose names are on there. Diamondhead has the second highest percentage of veterans anywhere in the United States. As long as anyone remembers, no one dies.”
Gulfport Seabees will help set up the moving memorial at Diamondhead City Hall. Admission is free and the public is invited to come out while it is on display from October 26th through the 29th.
