Motor Vehicle for Hire Controversy

Independent taxi cab drivers in D’iberville, Gulfport and Biloxi still remain under the supervision of the Motor Vehicle for Hire Association.
Tonight, members of the Gulf Coast Taxi Association gathered at D’iberville City Hall to discuss ways to dissolve the MVHA and replace it with a more fair solution.
Cab drivers who attended tonight’s meeting tells News 25 the MVHA is not serving the purpose it was intended to. Drivers are requesting less regulations and more freedom of enterprise.
Biloxi Councilman Robert Deming proposed a possible solution during tonight’s meeting that would incorporate regulations only focusing on health, safety and welfare.
