Motion hearing today for Singing River Health System Case

A motion hearing in Jackson County Court regarding the Singing River Health System Case is taking place today.
The hearing is being held in front of Judge Bell and focuses on two major concerns involving the retirees. The primary concern for those retirees is replacing Steve Simpson as the special fiduciary trustee. Attorney Harvey Barton says they will also try to open the case back up to do some discovery on what he calls “secret meetings.”
Jackson County Supervisor Ken Taylor tells News 25 that the retirees have acted admirably throughout the process. “They just want to go back to ground zero and be heard. Their retirement is at stake here. They want the hospital to go back and redo things to get them the money that they feel they deserve and apparently they do deserve it based on what the plan said at the time.”
News 25 has a reporter in the courtroom. We will bring you the details as this story develops.
