Moss Point man faces capital murder charge in death of toddler
A Moss Point man is facing capital murder charges after the death of a toddler.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a press release that James Garland Ward, 27, brought a 20-month-old female to Singing River Hospital. The child was unresponsive and was flown to Ochsner’s Hospital in New Orleans.
The child died there as a result of her injuries.
An investigation and the child’s medical records led the Jackson County Criminal Investigations Division to arrest Ward on charges of capital murder in the child’s death.
Ward was arrested Thursday and is being held at the Jackson County jail awaiting an initial appearance in County Court.
