Moss Point Continues to Struggle with Flooding Issues

With all this rain, flooding is an issue Moss Point has been dealing with for quite some time.

Residents have asked the city for help and it seems work is beginning, but is it enough? The rain came down through much of the day Friday on Rose Drive and even though it didn’t rained particularly hard, large areas of standing water still formed. The residents have complained to city officials multiple times, and it seems some work is now being done.

Crews have begun to install new, wider drainage culverts on Webb Street, about five minutes from Rose Drive. News 25 tried to contact the alderman of this ward, Chuck Redmond, and the Director of Public Works, Russell Davis, about the project, but those calls went unanswered. Residents fear that even a small amount of rain could cause damage to their homes and are looking for answers.
