Moss Point Christmas by the River

The city of Moss Point brings holiday cheer to the weekend with the 25th annual Christmas by the River event.
The day kicks off tomorrow at breakfast with Santa at 10 a.m. at the recreation center, where there is food, music and free pictures with Jolly St. Nick. The parade will then roll through the city, starting at the Southgate Mall at 3 p.m. This will lead to a Christmas tree lighting at 5:30 on the riverfront.
Christmas by the River wraps up with a boat parade and fireworks off the water, a unique aspect for the city of Moss Point. Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Chadwick Smith said, “One thing is we celebrate basically the birth of Christ for the city and the rest of the world. It’s just an awesome time to gather and enjoy the positive side of life and Christmas brings that out of everybody.”
