Moss Point budget proposal meeting

The Moss Point Board of Aldermen will gather at city hall tomorrow night to discuss the city’s budget proposal.

There could be a 5.42 millage tax increase in Moss Point. The budget also includes cutting four non-essential positions.

Moss Point Mayor Mario King tells News 25 the proposal includes restructuring both the fire and police departments. The fire department is working on a letter signed by each member to present to the board of aldermen at the meeting expressing their concern regarding the position of Fire Chief Tommy Posey.

The fire department is concerned about how things will work without having a fire chief.
