More than 500 MS & LA Students Expected to Answer Rocket Rescue Challenge at INFINTY on Saturday
Students from Mississippi and Louisiana have R.S.V.P.’d to participate in the challenge, designed by the national 4-H, hosted by NASA and held at the INFINITY Science Center. By designing a rocket, students have to ensure its integrity, as well as estimate the correct angle and trajectory needed to successfully launch a rocket. They will record data, compare observations and discuss how the activity could be applied to real life air and spacecraft develop, manufacturing, and testing problems.
In addition to the Rescue challenge, students will participate in more than 10 different activity stations around the museum provided by N.A.S.A., the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, and the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi. A cryogenics demonstration is scheduled for 10 a.m. in INFINITY’s Earth Gallery.
