‘Mom to Wow’ Contest Winners

This morning, three deserving moms got the surprise of a lifetime when they found out they were winners in WXXV and Harrah’s Gulf Coast’s ‘Mom to Wow’ contest.

News 25’s Caroline Eaker was at Harrah’s bright and early to welcome the winners as they arrived in a limo to start their day of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Our two winners were Gabrielle Green and Carol Floyd.

Gabrielle was nominated 23 times and on top of being a mother to her son, she is also a nurse and a breast cancer survivor.

Carol is a mom to a five-year-old and a three-year-old plus she works the night shift at the Gulfport Police Department as a 911 dispatcher.

Harrah’s Gulf Coast officials also decided to nominate one of their own employees to enjoy the ‘Mom to Wow’ treatment and the winner of that contest was Gwen Williams. Gwen is a member of the environmental services team at Harrah’s and when she is not working hard there she is being a full-time parent to her five grandchildren.

Carol said, “It really did shock me. I wasn’t expecting it. I don’t even win at bingo so the fact that somebody nominated and I won and it’s a great feeling.”

Gabrielle said, “Words can’t express the way that I was feeling. I literally screamed over the phone and started crying and had to pull over. I was just so in shock, but I am so grateful.”

Gwen said, “It was amazing. Sometimes you feel like you are going through something and you are all by yourself and you don’t realize that somebody is really watching you. Somebody is concerned about you and they care. When I found out about the nomination I couldn’t do anything but cry.”

Those ladies will spend the day at the spa and then a lazy afternoon in a private pool cabana with refreshments. In the evening they will enjoy a dinner at the Magnolia House by Kelly English.
