Mobile medical unit to be delivered to Biloxi V.A.
The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System in Biloxi is scheduled to receive a medical mobile unit on Friday at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi.
The vehicle is specifically designed to deliver primary care and other services to enrolled veterans with limited access to V.A. healthcare services due to low population density, remoteness, or limited local demand for specialized services.
While based in Biloxi, the mobile medical unit will also be used at the organization’s community-based outpatient clinics in Alabama and Florida.
The 30-foot vehicle is outfitted with a wheelchair lift, storage space for primary care medical equipment, a generator, sink, lab area, and refrigerator, and is designed for non-emergency medical procedures.
