MLB owners approve proposal for 2020 season
As first reported by ‘The Athletic,’ Major League Baseball could be back by the Fourth of July.
Per the report, MLB owners have approved a proposal for the 2020 season to be presented to the players union on Tuesday.
If agreed upon, the owners would split 50 percent of their revenue with the players association to address the financial hardships of a shortened season without fans.
The 82-game season would start at home stadiums in early July with a playoff expansion from 10 to 14 teams.
Other changes include a second spring training in June, geographical schedules, a universal designated hitter, and a 30 man roster with a taxi squad of both Major League and minor league players.
That being said, the Biloxi Shuckers 2020 season is very much in jeopardy.
