Mississippi State women’s basketball gearing up for Sweet 16

In the Great Northwest, the Mississippi State women’s basketball team is making its final preparations for a fourth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance.

The top-seeded Bulldogs will be taking on Arizona State for the right to advance to the Elite 8. Along the way, MSU has dispatched of Southern University and Clemson led by SEC Coach of the Year Vic Schaefer and SEC Player of the Year Teaira McCowan.

The latter just broke MSU’s NCAA Tournament record for field goals in a game with 14. If the Bulldogs do advance, they’ll be just the 15th program all-time to reach the Elite 8 for a third straight year.

Tomorrow’s game will tipoff at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
