Mississippi State signee Jacobi Moore headlines Harrison Central signing day class
Of all the top high school football recruits from the class of 2021, only one local player waited to celebrate his SEC future on the traditional National Signing Day.
Harrison Central’s Jacobi Moore actually signed his National Letter of Intent with Mississippi State during the early December period, but never got the chance to be the man of the hour until today.
Other Red Rebels putting pen to paper, Ricky Willis with Jones College and Daveontay McDonald with Holmes Community College.
As for Moore, his injury plagued senior season was still dominant by anyone’s standards, leading Harrison Central with 43 receptions for more than 800 yards and 10 touchdowns.
He was one of five Coast players selected to this year’s Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic on the back of a second-round playoff appearance.
A three-star recruit, Moore committed to the Bulldogs back in August and is ready to take a page out of D’Iberville alum Jaden Walley’s book. “I text him and told him that, I’m going to come break a record, too. It means a lot to me, like growing up I used to watch the YouTube and how people got ready and stuff for college and signing day and stuff like that and it’s an honor to be here today.”
Moore says he’s heading up to Starkville in either mid-May or June and could play either inside or outside receiver.
