Mississippi Songwriter Festival
Free entertainment is just a stroll away in Ocean Springs this weekend.
Starting tonight until Sunday, 11 downtown venues will play host to live music from some of the best songwriters in the world for the fourth annual Mississippi Songwriters Festival.
Musicians who have written for Jimmy Buffett and Brad Paisley along with others from Nashville and all over will serenade the streets from evening into the night.
Alliance Board member Reggie Bates tells News 25 it’s an event you don’t want to miss. “Great music from the songwriters who wrote some of these songs. You’ve got the local, regional and national songwriters and you want to come out and hear the music because its music the way it is supposed to be, from the heart of the songwriter.”
City officials also say the festival is bringing in more than just music, it’s also racking in the money for the city. The Gulf Hills Hotel is booked and the event is set to bring in hundreds of people.
