Mississippi residents can now apply for medical marijuana
Today is the first day people can apply for medical marijuana cards or get into the medical marijuana business.
Attorneys for Moore Company are in the process of applying the Department of Health and the Department of Revenue to ensure that the company is able to distribute medical cannabis to Mississippi patients.
Former Ocean Springs Mayor Shea Dobson, who has advocated for medical marijuana, is now working with Moore Company and its distribution arm. “MGO is excited to really be first to market. We’re expected to be selling product in November. This is something we have been working hard on…making sure we have all our “T’s” crossed and “I’s” dotted. And we’re really excited to bring this product to Mississippians.”
Five cities and two counties in South Mississippi have opted out of medical marijuana at this time. You can see the full list here.
