Mississippi Power says restoration work should be done by Monday
The Mississippi Power Hurricane Zeta storm team has restored service to about 30,000 customers impacted by the powerful storm as of 2 p.m. Friday.
Based on the completed damage assessment, the company expects to complete restoration to 95 percent of customers by midnight on Monday night.
Mississippi Power’s transmission and distribution equipment suffered extensive damage which requires a rebuild of a significant portion of the company’s electrical infrastructure throughout our service area.
Mississippi Power has help from outside line crews from 13 states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, and New York to help restore power to customers.
