Mississippi Power offers energy saving tips
Mississippi Power is giving some energy saving tips to help customers cut down on costs during the summer months.
The energy company is promoting its energy saving tool kit to help customers manage their energy with tips to rebate programs. The company also introduced an online Mississippi Power marketplace for customers to utilize a hundred-dollar rebate for a smart thermostat. Mississippi Power Spokesperson Kaila Moran Griffith said, “So, this is the time of year to start getting into some healthy energy saving habits before we get into the true dog days of summer of August. So, what I recommend first, if you are eligible to upgrade to a smart thermostat, absolutely recommend that. That way you can control your thermostat from your phone. So, if you are at work, if the kids are at daycare, summer camp, whatever it is, you can keep your thermostat at home to that 78 degrees, which is what we recommend, or as close to 78 as possible. On your commute home, you can program your smart thermostat to start cooling your house down so when you walk in, it’s nice and comfortable.”
